Caves Beach Public School Teacher to Participate in 14 Hour day

Students Donate a Gold Coin to help Teacher Mr White do a Spin Bike Class

I was asked to address to the school students by a parent and good friend Mrs Vanessa Parry-Williams on the 14hour day event. The students watched the 4 minute promo DVD and then asked many questions about my Brain Injury and the event for LeapFrog.

This informative for them as well as me. Some great questions were asked. These students are well behaved with a pleasant attitude and funny too. We had some fun with the fact that they were sponsoring Mr White to do one of the spin bike classes at Westfield Kotara on the 18th Oct with many Gold Coins donated on the day. The jokes flew as there were some funny bits mentioned about Mr White’s athletic ability. One thing is for sure you don’t have to be super fit to participate.

Due to the privacy laws pertaining to children and the whole school was there I can only show a couple of students so this pic shows…. Spreading the word on the 14 Hour Day

I was asked to speak to Toronto Rotary group by member John Caelli and he called me later in the day and said it was very well received by the members. This is a group of very inspiring pro-active people. They get things done and are very positive in there attitude and funny too. One member is going to sign up in a spin bike class.

LeapFrog Fundraising Officer Janelle Gerrard asked me to drop in and talk to staff about the 14 Hour Day. Their staff meeting is held once a month, all staff are invited including staff from their Maitland office.  The meeting is for housekeeping and admin matters and to update staff on current events, news and  happenings.  Staff from all areas of the organization are included such as those working directly with clients (consultants, support workers) and other staff such as admin, marketing, finance and management.  At today’s meeting they had a morning tea to welcome two new members of staff, Lambert and Courtney to LeapFrog. Lambert is their new accountant and Courtney will be working in the Flexible Support Options program.  They just look like nice Frogs to me. Pic by Ali Ryan.
