Eddie’s comment. I started early in the quiet and warm morning dark seeing the workers erecting fences for tonight’s big Party. I did some Ab crunches Push ups and tricep dips before Cath got out to me and I took a heap of pics too. We did a pic together and off we went and did more on Breakwall as Garry & Michelle took some of us being silly. Cath and I saw Bob at Nobby’s and we gave our condolences to him as he recently lost his mate Ray 2 days ago. He was close to him and I took a photo of his seat at Nobby’s where he used to sit after his ride every morning as Cath and I would often talk to him there. Sue Ebeling came by and was tearing up too, very sad. We had a great little run and when we met Melanie at Bar Beach with a big power hug signaled the happiness for me of running with the two most important, calm, balanced and experienced people I have been lucky to be supported by this year.
We have all been thru a lot and what a great feeling it was to finish the year with them both beside me on this run. Then further on we met old Triathlon mate Paul Franks who took a pic of us getting ready to run toward the camera and I got a pic of him with me squinting into the sun. Cath and I did battle the Scenic Drive and Hickson Street stairs in which I walked half of them but ran up all of Hickson Street. We met Mandy and the beautiful loyal Mary Alford at the water tower for a good chat. Mary another great loyal loving and caring lady who I have known since 11/11/95 remembrance day when I photographed her wedding to Paul another great person.
We went over the facts of how both our lives have changed greatly over the last year as we like all were challenged at times. We recollected how we both achieved greatness in different ways. Cath became Detective of the year with her Award by the minister for her successful major Investigations and along with mine of doing the often thought impossible 14hour Triathlon fundraiser that made over $70,000 for LeapFrog so people with a disability will have a better quality of life.
A great fulfilling and rewarding one on one time of enriching life talk with Cath on our way home followed. We finished up with a pic in the spot where we started this morning. I then saw Corey Tree trunk-nickname training a client out side the Forum I think her name was Michelle. Being right back into work I have done a couple of big photo shoots now. On Friday I get to take some beautiful images of Cath and her mum, Bobby and family. A bit of preparation has gone into the shoot and with fingers crossed Bobby will not go on another bender. Chances are Jase will though and that is okay because then we can have KFC to help him come back to life. As for all of you be careful with tonight and have fun and I will see you all at KFC for the recovery session soon. Just for the record Samara has just text me re the blog about her and she says looking forward to more 2009 funny runs and her resolution is to become more high maintenance like me and Cath. Cool.

Eddie’s comment.  A great jam packed class with Shane again. His music list was super good and we dug it. Bobby 2 guns was lurking around the back of the class ready to help anyone with the new bikes. A few of the ladies on the other side of the room were very vocal and funny. A nice feel in the room it was. After the class I ran with regular glamour’s Donna and Anne-Maree who are both little muscle power packs. We had lots of fun and I took a pic on self timer mode before handing the camera over to a passer by named Barry who did take a cool higher angle pic of us looking the goods. Tah Barry. I then I did some weights and a huge stretching session that was great once back at the Forum.

I started yet again in the morning darkness and it was calm but very humid. We had an informative big run by ourselves. Being a bit flat I walked up Hickson Street stairs and then a bit of Hickson Street too. A much needed one on one time of nice life talk we shared. Cath said Jase blew her away over Christmas as he ran 4 days in a row. Never been done before groovy dude by Jase. Funny that don’t you reckon?  Nah Cath I reckon he has been dropping some performance enancing drugs into his Japanese beers. Or the good folk have put a lot of ginseng and or Guarana in his tandoori chicken pizzas. Gee groovy dude I think you’re right why I didn’t think of that.

Eddie’s comment. I all started last night at Tony Cleva’s our instructor’s 50th birthday party. Confusing for the fact that he looks about 41 and is fitter than most people in their 20’s. Anyway I mentioned to a few Forum regulars there that I was doing a 1 hour ride and a 30min run off the bike the next morning with 14 hour day sponsor Matt Freedman of Sticky Tickets. Soon I had a few deciding that it was a great idea and suggested they came and lets do a swim said Katrina Reye. So we had Simon & Katrina, Reece & mum Samantha, Big skyscraper tall Matt Freedman and me. We looked like the sexy six. So we powered into a great warm workout with Katrina flying off fast and running thru an amber light and when I caught her I thought something is different here with her and then realized what it was when hubby Simon came up to us at Honeysuckle 3 kms later pretending to be a traffic cop and saying pull over immediately and put this helmet on. She did. Simon and I then decided to ride ahead on our way up the foreshore at fast speed and held onto 45kmph peaking at 47kmph. I blew both our legs apart and it was fun. We went over to Merewether baths and had a rest while waiting for everyone to catch up. Big Matt had a power burst at one sprint stage and spun his chain off and then nearly ate the road up. We then headed to Townson Oval where we did some interval sprints and I spent 26 hours teaching Samantha left from right and how to change and select gears while riding. It is a lawyer thing. I did the same with her son Reece in 2 mins. He said it is normal. We then went back to Newie and Samantha got hungry and decided to eat the bitumen at the Train Station lights. It didn’t look good or graceful and I thought she felt hard but she was ok, luckily. We then ran across past the ocean baths out to the breakwaters end back to my studio and then it was time for a swim. Being about 44degrees it was a good idea and we all swam about 500-800metres except for Reece who got bored and beat us to Café 2300 for coffee. Matt Freedman only manages to do 4 strokes per lap as the big unit does a huge push off and then he is at the other end in no time. We had yummy coffee and almond croissants at the café, it was a great workout. Samantha was delirious and went home without her heart rate monitor and Katrina left her drink bottle behind too as we were all pretty razed.A top day for us.

I was a tad tired and then I rode over to Merewether to a friends place and back to Newie.

Eddie’s comment. I started in the morning darkness it was great for a run before Christmas. I did a few push ups before Cath got out and decided to rev it up a bit and plonked herself on top of me. How ‘s that groovy dude I said get off after 3 more push ups you are hurting my little arms you sausage roll. We had a fast little run and when we met Oenone who has been christened 111 by Jase. Jase is the king of nickname delegation. 111stands for 1st place in a world title 1st place in a Commonwealth Games Time Trial and 1st place in …Beauty I think. Or then Jase being and IT nerd may have thought 1st placed Olympian to marry an IT nerd in young Joel ? All groovy as Joel is a great guy like us. 111 you rock sister. Then further on we met Samara who is proud and high maintenance and recently got a talking to from Cathy-see pic, as she boycotted us in a fun picture with 111. Jase totally disagreed with me but again look at the pic Jase. She is even laughing at Cath, un cool, unfab I say. Oh yeah I also got a presie from Cath when we finished the run. A book tittled…”the happiness we share”.

Eddie’s comment. A great class with instructor Larissa who had some top songs playing. I set up alongside Tommy who has become a good friend and together we really powered thru the session. Shane was decked out in his Blue Santa hat for this our last class on these bikes. Did a great little weights session too with abs and I spoke to my old speech Therapist from the Brain injury clinic Princess Danielle who was doing her Ab workout too. We marveled at the year just gone and how fab it all is now. Especially as Danielle has a whole new great fit looking body as a result from her commitment and dedication in following thru with her goal. Well done Danielle, you are and always will be an inspiration to me. I also dropped into the big pump Christmas class with Kristy which was mad. I also spoke with Forum CEO Samantha martin which was great too.Today on the front page of the Weekender in The Herald was a story on my Christmas of 10 years ago. Other Media and the NBN crew were at the wharf for a news job and saw me and started sledging and laughing at me in my Santa hat on a boat for The Herald photographer. Eddie’s comment.  A great big fab class with Tony.  The music was good and apart from the Billy Idol Christmas song we loved it. It was a solid class of riding and a few of us were wrecked. A must say Mark & Darren were doing pretty good , Libby was going hard and turning a bit red and Samantha and I were a bit worse for wear too. Our smiles were fab though. The usual stars - little power packs Katrina and Anne Marie along with Donna and Linda were rocking. Good to see some new faces and not one yawn today. One guy said big hand for Tony for a top year and we all agreed and applauded. Again I went and did a few weights did some Ab work after class.

Eddie’s comment. I started in the morning darkness it was nice and balmy. I did a fair few Ab crunches and tricep dips before Cath got up and out on the track. We had a great little run and when we met Oenone a big hug ensued. Then further on we met Samara and had another as we passed Brennan looking like a wounded soldier with his hamstring injury. We got a great couple of pictures taken by him tah Brennan. In one pic Cath said lets do something funny, Samara to proud and well-high maintenance ran out of the shot leaving the fun fab three to be….fabulous. Oenone and I ventured on for another 5mins then turned for home leaving Samara and Cath to battle the Scenic Drive and Hickson Street. A great one on one time of nice life talk with her on our way home followed.

I went and did a few weights-bending steel and did some Ab work after class. I snuck up on Mark and Darren too who have been cross training and are looking the goods. Cathy came in after her long run and said groovy dude lets throw some weights around and so we did. We ran into Bobby 2 guns as we were kissing ours and I said Cath photo time. She said yeah Bobby and me will compare guns. Bobby cheated and said hang on and proceeded to blow his up bigger via his thumb. Well he was funny- gotta love the big sweetie. Well yeah all the girls do. Go bobby your guns are bigger than my thighs you big strong muscle tank. Oh and Cath your guns are cute and petite too mwah xxx.

Thursday Dec 11th Cessnock Public School with LeapFrog Ability

I ventured up to Cessnock with LeapFrog CEO Richard Brown and staff for a media story on how the funds that I raised for the 14 Hour Day for Disability were being used. The Cessnock Advertiser and Newcastle Herald were there too. It was great to meet Talking Point staff who are contracted by LeapFrog to help with Speech Pathology for some 55 kids at the School. We also spent time talk with the school staff who loved what Leapfrog is doing with the Fair Go For Kids program. It was very empowering to see how all my hard work is coming to fruition in a short amount of time as I new would be the case. The kids were very cute, warm and eager to learn more about what we had done and also filled us in on how their speach pathology classes were fun. Richard Brown of LeapFrog was happy and announced that next year the program will run for a full semester.

KFC Party for clients and training friends.

Perfect it has been some 5 weeks since I have had KFC. It was great as the KFC staff cordoned off the Krushers area for us. They were quite amazed and couldn’t believe that a group of fit people were keen on KFC. To top it all off Jase called me when I was sitting in KFC with some clients and he said if you don't get here soon Groover we are going to the pub. I said Jase where are you? Are you here ? He said yeah where are you ? I said mate I am in here and stood up only to see him and Cath with Cyclists Kate, world champion Oenone and her hubby Joel all sitting on the other side of our set up behind the seating partitions. Just 2 meters away and we walked past them all and we missed each other. Jase and I then went animal on the chicken. Yum. Even the great Tony Cleva came after his last    class instructing at The Forum Uni and he smashed down 7 pieces of Chicken and 3 of his fingers too. He was tired and hungry and I was grateful for his presence so I fed him up bigtime.

Eddies Comment This was a powerhouse pump class and Katrina said hey Eddie come down the front here with me and so I did to embarras myself. I said I know this will hurt a bit because it has been a while in between classes. I cautiously powered thru the class and had fun with Katrina who was hurting and pushing herself quite hard too. The instructor was a lady named Katherine and gee was she strong ! She was pushing some big weight on her bar onstage and wow… I was amazed at her muscular tone and strength within her body.  Katrina took a pic of Katherine and me.

Sunday 14th Ride & morning Coffee.
I rode with Oenone Wood this morning and gee it was fab. We went out to Charlestown via beach hills and returned to Café 2300 Hundred for a coffee and Tea. At the café Adam & Kaylah dropped in as well so it was all fab.
